Artesa Vineyards and Winery Wine Dinner

Please join us as we explore the beautiful wines of Artesa Vineyards and Winery out of California. Owned by the Raventos family of Spain, Artesa is considered one of the crown jewels of the Carneros region. A popular stop for wine tourists to Napa and Sonoma, Artesa impresses with its architecture, beautiful estate vineyards rolling down to the edge of the San Pablo Bay, and wonderfully elegant and refined wines. We'll have four of their stellar wines paired with savory dishes exquisitely matched by Watts' talented chefs, book ended by two of the Raventos family's world renowned Cavas. Several of the featured Artesa wines are normally available only at the winery, but we've been able to get some made available to us in North Carolina! Durham resident and Artesa Southeastern Sales Manager, and long time HVBS friend Laurence O. Vuelta (a.k.a. Dr. LOV) will be on hand to discuss the winery and the wines. Make your reservation today, and extend the enjoyment of Memorial Day weekend an extra day by dining with us!

Fresh Seafood Wine Dinner

This will actually be our 3rd Annual Fresh Seafood Wine Dinner with our dear friends at Nana's. We've selected a great line-up of some wines that make us crave different seafood dishes. Scott Howell will then match to the flavors of the wines we selected, using the best, freshest selections from the North Carolina coast and other outstanding areas for the best shellfish, mollusks, crustaceans, fish and more. All of the wines selected this year come from the Vintage '59 portfolio, one of our favorite French importers, and we're ranging from classics like Champagne, Chablis and Beaujolais, to lesser know gems like Minervois and Rivesaltes. To ensure that the dishes are using the freshest product possible, we will not have a menu to publish until the day of the event - many of our dishes that night will be being caught that morning! But Scott Howell doesn't disappoint with these dinners, and if you have any food allergies just alert the restaurant when you make your reservation. This dinner has sold out both of the last two years, so if you hesitate you might miss out!
